The Minnesota native played college hockey along side co-host Danny Heath, where he was a 2x WCHA all-academic team & WCHA All-Star plus captain his senior year. During his pro career, he had stints with the Worchester Sharks of the AHL before making his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks in January of 2014. After a season with the AHL Chicago Wolves, he retired in 2017. He's now giving back to his home town through athlete development as the owner of Five7 and the Head Coach of his alma mater, La Crescent High School hockey team.

Played NCAA D1 hockey for RPI from 2007-2011, during which he was team captain for his Junior & Senior seasons. After RPI, made his pro debut in the CHL for the Dayton Gems before heading to Australia to play in the AIHL He recenty transitioned from playing in the league to being the Head Coach of the Newcastle Northstars & was the 2019 AIHL Coach of the Year. Plus, he's the founder & director of National Sport Academy Hockey (NSA Hockey), the premier hockey development academy in Australia.

He earned a master's degree in cardiac rehab from Minnesota State in 2009 and was named Minnesota State's director of Strength and Conditioning in 2009."
